I am a professional meteorologist who is working for a private weather technologies firm. I and my fellow meteorologists prepare inland weather forecasts for industry and government. We also forecast winds and waves for ocean going vessels and oil rigs worldwide. Additionally, we do climatological and forensic studies for industry and court cases.
My interest in meteorology began as an abnormal fear of thunderstorms when I was about 5 years old. Because of this fear, I listened to the weather forecasts over the radio. By the time I was in the fourth grade, I developed a love of storms. I like observing severe thunderstorms if they are not too severe. I like experiencing hurricanes if they are not too strong. I would like to recieve a snow storm or two. However, Houston rarely has snow.
